I offer a specialized suite of non-traditional psychotherapy services tailored specifically for first responders, military personnel, and their spouses, focusing on neurosomatic intelligence and nervous system regulation. My approach integrates Neurosomatic Therapy, which acknowledges the profound link between mental health and the nervous system, providing a pathway to heal psychological wounds by working through physical symptoms and triggers. This method is particularly beneficial for those who've experienced high stress or trauma, helping to re-pattern the nervous system for better resilience and emotional regulation. Additionally, I incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS) or parts work, which helps clients understand and harmonize the various parts of their psyche, fostering internal peace and self-leadership. Through this unique, out-of-the-box combination, my aim is to support these communities in navigating the complexities of their experiences, promoting deep, lasting healing from the inside out.
Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) is an emerging treatment modality that combines the use of ketamine, an anesthetic medication with dissociative properties, with psychotherapy to treat various mental health conditions, notably depression, PTSD, and anxiety. In this therapy, ketamine is administered in a controlled medical setting, often through sublingual tablets, or IM injections, allowing patients to enter a state where they might experience altered perceptions and introspection. This altered state can facilitate a deeper exploration of psychological issues, providing insights and emotional breakthroughs that might be harder to achieve in traditional talk therapy alone. We believe in preparation and integration as a part of the process. We guide patients through these experiences, helping them process emotions and memories, aiming for long-term therapeutic effects. Research into KAP suggests it can lead to rapid and sometimes sustained symptom relief, although the exact mechanisms and optimal protocols are still subjects of ongoing study.
